Protein, simply: a practical guide for men
No spreadsheets. A few portion cues and a steady routine.

Protein keeps you full, supports training and makes meals more satisfying. The problem is rarely knowledge — it's consistency. Here is a simple way to make it automatic.
Spread it across the day
Most people eat little protein at breakfast and a lot at dinner. Moving some of it earlier makes the day easier: eggs, Greek yogurt or cottage cheese in the morning, a palm-sized portion of meat, fish or tofu at lunch and dinner.
Use your hand as a guide
A palm of protein, a fist of vegetables, a cupped hand of carbs and a thumb of fats is a practical starting point for most meals. Adjust from there.
Keep easy options at hand
- Ready-to-eat: Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, boiled eggs, canned tuna.
- Quick to cook: chicken thighs, salmon, lean mince, tofu.
- Snacks: jerky, edamame, a protein shake if it's convenient.
Hit your target most days. You don't need to hit it perfectly.
If you have a kidney condition or other health concerns, talk to a doctor before changing your diet. MySlim's men's track shows a daily protein target and portion guidance, and the AI coach can suggest swaps on the spot.
